dark forever

dark forever remains a slave
it has no existence of its own
except in the absence of light
but  then,
light burns out

dark is infinite

  1. Dear Sonya,

Thank you for sharing this poem with us. The last line is powerful, and suggestive of an illimitable source from which, who knows, even light may be birthed.

    All good wishes,

  2. …If I may respectfully disagree? Dark, by definition, is relative. Light exists and then dark is the comparative for when/where no light falls (dunno if I’m articulating this well enough?). Like you say, it is the slave, owned by Light.
Now, if it’s a mood or phase that you’re talking about (like the one I’m currently in…), then it seems infinite.

    1. Ah sorry for your mood/phase. May it lighten up soonest :)

Thanks for your comment. I think we should not dismiss the power and beauty of darkness though it be a slave, and I don’t mean it in a “dark” way.
