You’re water
Rumi
be far from our fire!
or
come in
and boil in our pot
I came across this thought provoking verse shared by @PersianPoetics, and it made me realise how our default reaction to so much around us is fear. Yet the same things, people or situations we are afraid of can be creatively captivated and within our control, if only we change how we perceive. If only we could accept. If only we learnt how to wait.
For many of us the greatest fear, though the least featured in our daily lives is death. Spare a while for those who are faced with dying and imagine how you would endure it at this point.
~~~~~
your eventual farewell is destined
not a moment before
nor a moment longer
than what was written for you
believing we can fight it
we push death away
like fire fearing
water will extinguish it
but if we could comprehend
the powerful transformation
the doorway to a beautiful freedom
how can we not accept
that it is only death
that completes us
till then what can we do,
but wait
all our lives dying feels
distant
appears to happen
to others
but conversely
when death starts to feel
more personal
when the time
draws nearer
the longer seems the wait
the more aware we are of
the weight of the wait
nothing to do,
but wait
if only we knew how
~~~~~
[though you will one day leave
emptiness will never be]
”You are the fullness.
There is fullness, here is fullness.
From the fullness, the fullness is born.
Remove the fullness from the fullness and the fullness alone remains.”
“Om Purnamadah Purnamidam
Purnat Purnamudachyate
Purnasya Purnamadaya
Purnamevavashisyate”

Thank you for sharing this beautiful post about death and dying, a topic close to my daily awareness.
There’s nothing like death to bring us so alive.
All good wishes,
