dim distant past

we had known each other
once upon a time
in the dim distant past

forgotten
in the outer corner of time
recognized
after births and rebirths

space never felt empty any longer
packed with reflections
of you and me
and of the future

yet we could not predict
the end of us would be so near

let us then be still
in our own places
as they endeavour
to discover
the depths of the cosmos
that is already hidden within us
