the sun was setting as usual one evening when one of its rays
got fastened to the limbs of a tree
barren with no foliage in autumn’s hour, this thirstful tree
brazenly helped herself to a momentary ornament, after all
who knew what the next instant would bring
the land settlers had already ravaged an orchard, but
she would stand her ground, and if it was her time
she would go down like a queen, tiaraed
she would leave behind her story,
a sun kissed seed
for you and me to water

Does this picture inspire you to write something?

[I started off with no idea what I was going to write about, but I guess my subconscious thoughts guided me along]
Some more poetry about Gaza 2014
wordless poetry
frozen tears
“she would leave behind her story, / a sun kissed seed” – I really liked these lines.
