in the light of oppression the lamp asks the city lights
i wonder how you burn all night whereas when my light extinguishes, I humbly relinquish myself after I gratefully imbibe the last drop of ghee
through the night you filter into minds of those that try to unwind, you remind there is no rest, no rewind
my flicker decorates homes and hearts as an inspiration for traditions, prayers, poetry and when shared can light up another and when required, can consume an entire pyre
i speak less, sometimes only whisper but for the ones who are meant to hear. my burnt wick stands in solidarity for those oppressed by the might of armies. injustice served by unending lights, know that karma’s glow is unforgiving burning for lifetimes eternally, obeys laws universally
a time will come when there will be no place to hide your cruelty, even the rubble will not cover your sins and the minerals you considered so precious will refuse to bury you for we all share and are made of the same soil, the one fire burns within us, each of us reveres all water as life, deny it as much but you do breathe my air, our very minute existence is in and of timeless space
the lamp has spoken

a heartbroken dedication to all who are suffering oppression because of unending despicable greed
disbelief at the silences and even complicity of the leaders, media and influential ones fueling global injustices
gratitude and respect to all who are speaking up and acting even in their smallest of ability
Justice, Freedom and Peace for the land & people of Palestine, Sudan, Congo, Haiti, the displaced Afghans, all experiencing blatant corruption and while you are here lending my simple words your ear, please take a moment to sign this petition against the eviction of the Mau OGIEK and Forest Communities in Kenya
