with no time to think
half words are blurted out
perhaps the truth
but more was needed to say
unclarity and spontaneity are a dangerous combination
oldest of secrets may be revealed
though their meanings are still hidden
even with time to think
you’ll never figure out
the reason behind this poem
even with the distance between us,
filled with silence and
time to think,
i think
you never really understood me
our oneness evaporated
yet, it hangs in the air
like apparent misfits of a jigsaw puzzle
and neither of us has time to think
about how to piece them together

an introspective poem exploring the complexities of communication and the silent gaps that grow between people. all about spontaneous truths, misunderstood connections, and the lingering weight of unresolved relationships. this piece speaks to anyone who’s ever wished they could go back and say it differently

Dear Sonya,
Thank you for this beautiful creation.
As we sit with this poem, it is clear that discursive thought cannot lead us to the Good.
How fortunate we may be when we are released from the piecing-together-mind and granted contemplation.
All good wishes,
robert

Sometimes poetry doesn’t need to be understood fully—it needs to be felt. And this… this was deeply felt. A quiet storm of vulnerability and reflection. So powerful.
